THE DAILY DEALMAKERS

faq.

How this works, how it's funded, and what the numbers mean.

How do you find deals?

An automated pipeline fetches deals from major retailers every four hours. Each feed is filtered by desk-specific keywords — dog gear keywords for Dog Deals, kitchen gear for Chef, van life gear for Nomad. Matches are deduplicated, enriched with product data, and cached. Deals that don't pass the discount threshold are excluded before they ever appear on the site.

What does "90-day price history" actually mean?

When a product first enters the pipeline, we start recording its price. Over time, this builds a historical price track. The sparkline on each deal card shows that history. A deal is only surfaced if the current price represents a genuine drop against recent history — not just against a manufacturer's suggested retail price.

Do you get paid if I click a link?

Yes. Links on this site may be affiliate links. If you buy through them, we earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This is how the site is funded. It does not affect which deals appear or how they're ranked — deal selection is driven entirely by price history and editorial criteria.

Why do deals disappear?

Deals expire when retailers change prices, sell out, remove listings, or change URLs. Our pipeline runs every four hours. In between runs, deals can go dead. Expired deals are marked hidden and removed from the active feed on the next refresh cycle.

Can I suggest a deal?

Yes. Send the product URL and retailer to hello@thedailydealmakers.com with the subject line "Deal tip" and the desk it belongs to. We review tips manually and add promising ones to the next pipeline run.

How does the ingredient warning system on Dog Deals work?

Dog food and treat products are analyzed for ingredients cross-referenced against ASPCA and FDA guidance on canine toxicity. Fatal and caution-level ingredients are flagged visually on the deal card and detail page. This analysis is AI-assisted and imperfect — always verify with your vet for your specific dog.

What retailers do you cover?

Coverage varies by desk. Dog Deals covers major pet retailers and general merchandise. Chef covers kitchen specialty and general merchandise. Nomad covers outdoor, automotive, and camping retailers. We expand coverage as the pipeline matures.

Is there a newsletter or RSS feed?

Not yet. Both are planned. If you want early access when they launch, send a note to hello@thedailydealmakers.com with the subject "Notify me".

How is this different from a deal aggregator?

Aggregators surface whatever merchants submit. We pull from retailer feeds and filter editorially. No merchant pays to appear. No placement is sponsored. Every deal card is generated by the pipeline, not a brand relationship.
